Belle’s Box – D41

This entry is part 370 of 372 in the series Belle's Box

You can read about Belle Lamunion, 1864-1848, and her amazing box of family memories here. Belle married Henry H Fellows, 1858-1905 in 1879 in Ashland Township, Newaygo County, Michigan. She married Charles “Charlie” Tinker on 15 July 1914 in Cadillac, Wexford County, Michigan. The cast of characters is located here. There is an accounting of people about whom I have little information here.

When I took Belle’s Box to a reunion, several people took cards that were connected to their direct ancestors, and I am glad. I did take photos of as many of them as I could before they disappeared. This group of posts are those that I was able to photograph. There were duplicate photos so when I renumbered the photos to titles I could use, I deleted the dupes. Missing numbers do not mean missing items!

Edna

Edna Rose Fellows, 1892-1950, was the seventh of nine children born to Henry Fellows and Belle Lamunion. She was Bill’s grandmother. She married Ross Presley Fenton, 1884-1957, on 11 September 1909 in Cadillac, Michigan.

In the early years, farmers in the area where the Fenton/Fellows/Lamunion/Tinker families lived worked in lumbering during the winter months. As trees were harvested and lumbering moved north, farmers found other work during the winter months.

From previous correspondence I have read I believe that Belle and her second husband, Charlie Tinker went to Paris, Michigan where Charlie worked on building a road during a winter. This was probably M 131. You can read the history of the highway here. This card must have been sent after Belle married Charlie Tinker in 1914. The history of the highway indicates this card may have been send ca 1926.
