  1. Interesting, isn’t it Theresa. Thanks for asking. Edward Isaac Warren was born in New Brighton, Beaver County, Pennsylvania on 30 December 1880 and died on 10 January 1962 in Cadillac, Wexford County, Michigan. He was my husband’s grandfather. We really did not understand the uniform, however, the sword is still in my mother-in-law’s home. A close inspection of the sword coupled with an internet search convinced me that it is a masonic sword, and therefor, I believe a masonic uniform. When my father was a mason 1950’s-1970’s there was no fancy uniform that I remember. Recently I found a website for the masons in the area where Grandpa lived, e-mailed them the photo and asked for more information. I have not received a reply but I hope we will.

  2. Pam,
The uniform in the photo is not only a masonic uniform, it is also a Knight Templar uniform complete with Templar sword. This is the only one I’ve seen with a black plume on the chapeau. Most are usually white. Is this a photo of a relative?

  3. Bob, I certainly appreciate the information. The photo is of Bill’s grandfather, Edward Isaac Warren. See my reply to above for a little about him.
