Belle’s Box – 2-42

April 11th, 2009 | Posted by Granny Pam in Papa's Ancestors
This entry is part 196 of 342 in the series Belle's Box

Read about this series of posts, regarding items in a box originally owned by Belle (Lamunion) Fellows Tinker here. The cast of characters is located here. And, there is an accounting of people about whom I have little information here.

The numbering of these posts had been modified to signify that I am posting items from my archival book two, hence the 2-xx numbering.

Greetings

Your Niece and Nephew, Jumbo & Belle

Nice of them to define there relationship to Belle for me, don’t you think? This is one I would have known without the additional help.

Maude Belle Lamunion was a daughter of Merritt W. “Scott” and Emma (Widger) Lamunion; therefore she was Belle’s niece. Belle married Charles E. “Jumbo” French and they farmed in Colfax Township, Wexford County Michigan. They later lived in Meauwataka, also in Colfax.

Hi, My grandmother was a sister to Jumbo (Charles Edward) French and often spoke of Belle and Jumbo. Their daugter Florence Monroe still lives in Meauwataka.

Hi, Barry and thanks for the comment. Yes, we saw Florence in church a few weeks ago, when we were visiting my M-in-L. The Friday before, our grandson and her granddaughter graduated from Mesick HS.
