Belle’s Box – 2-15

This entry is part 169 of 342 in the series Belle's Box

Read about this series of posts, regarding items in a box originally owned by Belle (Lamunion) Fellows Tinker here. The cast of characters is located here. And, there is an accounting of people about whom I have little information here.

The numbering of these posts had been modified to signify that I am posting items from my archival book two, hence the 2-xx numbering. The posts from this book will contain more thumbnails, you will find that the pages with signatures, text and other important details will enlarge upon clicking.

Christmas Greetings

Wishing for you

Just the happiest kind
of a Christmas day!

“Mr. + Mrs. Schutte
and
Dorothea

The Schutte’s were neighbors of Belle and Charlie. Descendants of their daughter Dorothea continue to own property in Colfax Township, Wexford County, Michigan.  I sent a copy of this card to a member of the family of the sender and received this reply:

“The Christmas card is from my grandparents John and Louise (Freund) Schutte and Dorothea is my mom. They are all deceased. Mom’s brother Karl got married in 1931, so it’s between 1931 and 1946 when Mom got married. Grandpa Schutte died in 1947 and Grandma in 1953.  Most probably sent in the 40’s is my guess…”

  1. Pam, I love this idea of yours. I have so many old cards from my grandmother and my in-laws and I would love to do something special with them. I’ve considered an album and that is what I will probably do eventually. But your process of doing this on your blog and the information you’re giving about the “Cast of Players” is gives me a lot of ideas. I love your posts.

Thanks for commenting on the picture of my grandfather in his truck at Genealogy Traces. It’s one of my favorites.

  2. I believe I first noticed a blogger posting historic family documents was Randy Seaver, and it was a diary. I figured that I had this box of treasures for one reason or another, and preserving them was only one of the reasons. I’m enjoying reading each one, and learning more than I did when I put them in the archival sleeves. Thanks for the comment, I did love that photo, so much personality.
