I've had cats all my life.  From my younger days, Kitty, a gray tiger cat, remains in my memory.  It seems he was always there.  To save all you smart alecks from calling and writing, yes, it's a Cadillac and yes, it's a hearse.

When our children were small, we had dogs, until someone left a couple of female kittens near our home. I found them late in the fall, cuddled up and shivering on a hat one of the kids had left on our porch. I don't remember if they had names, but they did have seven (7!) kittens between them and we had to give the whole works away.

About 20 years ago, our youngest daughter captured a black Manx cat, with a little help from her grandpa and a live trap. That cat did have a tail, but he had the high rump and could jump straight up, quite high. He was known as Kitty, and we had him for almost 18 years. I still tear up thinking of the day I had to take him to the vet to be put to sleep.

Fred, an orange tiger, came to our home when the aging Kitty was obviously on the decline. Josh got him at a cousin's house and we thought Kitty might enjoy the companionship, and he seemed to for a while. Fred died shortly after Kitty, one sad morning. In 2007, our oldest daughter adopted two kittens from the Humane Society. They were among a bunch of 17 dropped off in one batch. It is clear that they aren't siblings, but they are best friends. These cats keep me company each day, and make every attempt to push us out of bed at night! Our youngest granddaughter called them "two catties" and they get called catties a lot. My Myspace appeared about the same time, hence the crazy name. And, like they say, you can't change the name. Oh well.
