I have a rumor that Elizabeth (nee Lawrence) Longstreet, spouse of Henry A. Longstreet, buried in Dayhuff Cemetary, Colfax Township, Michigan, may be buried in Meauwataka Cemetery, Meauwataka Michigan. Is there someone who might be able to verify this information?

    Thank you for your help.

  1. I will see what I can find out. I do not know of a Dayhuff cemetery, but the Meauwataka cemetery is near Dayhuff lake.

I visited the cemetery, and noticed that it is also called Dayhuff. We found Elizabeth’s grave and will e-mail you photos when we return home in a few days.

I recently visited Meauwataka Cemetery. It is also called Dayhuff Cemetery as it is near Dayhuff lake. It’s in a rural location in a very small town (Meauwataka). Elizabeth Lawrence Longstreet is there, buried next to Henry A. and William Alford. I have pictures if anyone is interested.

  2. Thanks, Rick. I was there last Saturday and took photos for Howard. If he needs more information, may I refer him to you?

Yes. I have been in contact with Howard and also sent him photos. I was also there Saturday, may 29 th! We were there about 4 or 5pm.

Granny Pam, do you happen to have any information about John Longstreet b. Circa 1796? I am searching for parents or birth date. I have seen the conover genealogy site but the dates don’t seem to add up for me.
